What is Discipelship School

Discipelship School takes place in House of Opportunities in Glamsbjerg

The discipleship school is a place where some live permanently, leading a life where their walk with God is the top priority. That journey can look different depending on where you are in your walk with God and who you are as a person. For others, the discipleship school means coming for a shorter period to participate in an intensive Bible teaching program, a period with a specific focus, or something else. Stay updated with theProvisional Planto see upcoming focus areas and teaching schedules.

Again, there is the opportunity to come and participate in the daily teaching lessons—completely free of charge—or other parts of daily life.

In other words, the discipleship school is a life centered on Christ.

Thursday is Mentoring Day

What is time alone with God?

The most important thing of all for a disciple is to spend time with God. This can take many forms, but prayer is central. In your personal time with God, you are alone—reading the Bible, praying, or perhaps taking a walk to sit somewhere in silence with Him, listening for what He wants to say to you today. Jesus Himself says, 'My sheep know my voice.' Every Christian, therefore, can recognize God’s voice, but it requires that we listen—and in a busy everyday life, that can be a challenge. Yet it is absolutely certain that when we let God be the first one we listen to in the morning, it becomes easier to hear His voice throughout the day.

At the Discipleship School, there is time and space to change your habits, so we can become better at listening to God first and thereby allow Him to shape our day."

Teaching

The teaching is structured to alternate between intensive Bible study and periods combining Bible teaching, discipleship training, and evangelism. Christina  is the primary instructor, and her strength lies in the overarching themes of the Bible: Old Testament (OT) signs that point to Jesus, and the New Testament (NT) seen in the light of the OT and applied to our time.

Other main Teachers are Kurt and Ole

We design the teaching to be developmental and to inspire personal immersion; therefore, no specific prior biblical knowledge is required to participate. However, there is an expectation that you have read the text for the lesson yourself, as God's Word must speak to you first. No earthly teacher should have a voice before the Word of God.

The number of chapters covered each day varies based on several factors. Our teachers accept the words of the Bible as truth, have walked with Christ for many years, and possess extensive teaching experience.

Occasionally, a student at the Discipleship School may practice their teaching skills; in such cases, they may serve as a co-teacher for one or more lessons.

Outreach

During the interim periods, we take to the streets or reach out in other ways on Mondays. This is a part of the teaching, so we go together, listen to God together, and practice together what it means for each individual to engage in street ministry.

In weeks 31 and 32, we go on a walking mission trip across Funen. For those who wish to join

Work for the Kingdom of God

Serving the Kingdom of God is the task of every disciple, and at the Discipleship School, it is an essential element of daily life. This encompasses several areas, all of which are part of being a disciple:

Primary practical tasks on-site

  • For example:Cooking, cleaning, and gardening.

Sharing the Gospel

  • Street evangelism, social work, and raising awareness about the church's opportunities.

Serving within the Church

  • Participating in the church's social work, engaging in the church's youth ministry, or other areas of service.

Bringing your own ministry into play

  • Preparing teaching, offering intercessory prayer—the possibilities are many.

Saturdag  or Sunday is for rest

Regular daily prayers and devotions are held, but there are no classes and no work. Residents are encouraged to attend services atMulighedernes Hus(House of Opportunities) on Sundays when they are held, or to seek a service elsewhere if desired.

God Himself rested on the seventh day, and He hallowed that day for us all. For some, Sunday is not a day of rest because their service during the church meeting takes up much of the time; for them, Saturday becomes the day of rest instead. Regardless of how our week is structured, we recommend keeping the day of rest holy."

You can live here permanently and let the Discipleship School become your daily life, join us for a shorter stay, or attend as a day student.
