Healing in Christ

People are healed in the Christian Comunity

By the grace of God, we are allowed to see people rise again. Some come here just to live among other Christians and share their daily lives in fellowship, but more and more arrive with deep scars on their souls, with frayed lives, illness, and other burdens that need to be dealt with.

We see Jesus intervene in people’s lives and create transformation. We see people who feel worthless and abandoned by the world break free from their chains and grow into who they were created to be.

The Communes Emergency Shelter

Jesus shows us the way; when He sees suffering and injustice, He SEES the person's suffering, has COMPASSION for them, and ACTS by meeting their needs. We desire to follow that example!

"Is this the kind of fast I have chosen, only a day for people to humble themselves? Is it only for bowing one’s head like a reed and for lying in sackcloth and ashes? Is that what you call a fast, a day acceptable to the Lord? Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?" (Isaiah 58:5-7, NIV)

In the Christian Commune, there is a care room open to individuals who, for one reason or another, need to be in a compassionate environment for a shorter period. There can be many reasons behind such a need. If you are in acute need of temporary shelter, there may be room in our Care Room.

The stay only covers basic utility costs, and we provide everything necessary for your stay—you do not need to bring a duvet, toothbrush, clothes, or towels.

Active substance abuse is not permitted, and you must be able to respect that this is a Christian Home, which is the foundation of our daily life. We do not require you to be a Christian, but we expect respect for the Christian faith.

The same house rules apply to the care room as to the rest of the commune. When you arrive, we will talk about how much or how little of the daily program you feel able to participate in. However, it is a requirement that you have daily personal contact with one of us as a minimum.
